Caprese Salad Recipe

Caprese Salad


  • 1 Mozzarella (Mozzarella di bufala campana or Mozzarella fior di latte)
  • 2 red ripe but not too soft medium sized tomatoes
  • fresh basil
  • salt
  • virgin olive oil
  • capers (optional)

How to make Caprese Salad

This is a very easy salad once you got the right ingedients. The capers are just an ingredient I like to add but originally not part of the recipe.

  1. cut the tomatoes and mozzarella in slices and arrange on a flat plate
  2. rip the basil into small pieces and put on top
  3. season with salt and add the optional capers
  4. splash some olive oil on top
  5. serve with nice white bread and a glass of wine
