  • 4 cups hot vegetable broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes or the equivalent of fresh tomatoes
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp tomato paste or double tomato paste
  • 1 tsp spicy sauce of your choice (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
