- 4 cups hot vegetable broth
- 1 can diced tomatoes or the equivalent of fresh tomatoes
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp tomato paste or double tomato paste
- 1 tsp spicy sauce of your choice (optional)
- 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
