Salt Whip Recipe

Salt Whip

  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Salt to taste

How to make Salt Whip

My dad told me about a treat he enjoyed as a boy- Whipped cream with a little salt on bread. It’s almost butter, but it’s soft and spreadable when cold  and has a shorter shelf life. It’s otherworldly good.
  1. Add whipped cream and salt to chilled bowl
  2. Whip until it’s just beyond stiff peaks
  3. Serve on fresh bread.
Question from the Chef

“What treats from your parents' childhood do you enjoy?”

I'll have to try this the next time I have heavy cream left over. Is there any kind of bread you recommend to go with it?

This is the first time I've made this, but I tried sourdough and French breads. I preferred the sourdough, but then I'm a sourdough kind of guy.
