sweet potato / yam

olive oil

garlic pepper

and... thats it!

How to make baked sweet potato fries

yes... i burnt it a bit... next time that will not happen!

1... cut the yam into thin slices. (it burnt because i cut them TOO thin...)

2... coat them in a mixture of pepper and oil

3... toast or bake in oven for about 10 min on 450, then flip for another 10.

4... lay on paper towel and enjoy

this is very yummy and is alot better for you than regular potato fries. theyre very sweet, crunch and soft in the inside.

if there are suggestions or recommendations on how i can better cut the potatos... please comment here.

    i read that they were better than regular potatos from a diet blog haha. here is what it also says. In 1992, the Center for Science in the Public Interest compared the nutritional value of sweet potatoes to other vegetables. Considering fiber content, complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins A and C, iron, and calcium, the sweet potato ranked highest in nutritional value. According to these criteria, sweet potatoes earned 184 points, 100 points over the next on the list, the common potato.(NCSPC)

    i did not know that! i've got 3 of those bad boys lying next to my cooker so i'm gonna try them in the next couple of days. thanks for the science report. i've been trying to eat lots of protein and vegetables to trim off a bit of weight however my willpower to resist nice food is very low :(

    hahaha i knoW!!! i was very surprised. its much sweeter and really yummy... thats the main reason why i switched... because i love potato but my jeans did not.

    The grandkids liked a healthy dessert. I used safflower margerine, baked, then they dipped the ends in cinnamon sugar. Much healthier than cookies or cake.

    You could use a mandolin cutter. It creates thinner cuts, but that way you can turn down the temperatures and let the sweet potato crisp without burning. I also like them with cinnamon sugar too, reminds me of Thanksgiving.
