Egg Fried Rice Ria Style


  • 400 ml cups boiled rice steamed and cooled
  • 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • sliced ham
  • 1/2 cup garden peas
  • 3 sprigs of spring onions chopped finely
  • salt & pepper

How to make Egg Fried Rice Ria Style

  1. Heat sesame oil in a wok, then add garlic stir until brown.

  2. Add eggs and rice and keep stirring until rice is coated with egg and until heated through.

  3. Add garden peas, ham, continue stirring until evenly distributed.

  4. Add salt and pepper and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  5. Drizzle soy sauce and toss in the spring onions. Stir more for a few minutes. Then serve.


For a more authentic Chinese taste I usually add a pinch of Chinese 5 Spice Seasoning.
