Egg & Toast


  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 slices of whole wheat/rye/multigrain bread
  • butter
  • S&P

How to make Egg & Toast

  1. Bring water to a gentle boil and lower egg into water with a spoon.
  2. Cook for 4 minutes for L sized egg (60g).
  3. Crack top off with a knife, season with S&P.
  4. While egg's cooking, butter bread slice and toast until golden. cut into strips.

    How about boiling the water with the egg in at the same time, I do it and it doesn't crack as they're cooking at the same time. If it does start to crack pour salt in the water.

    Growing up in England, my muma used to make this quick dish and I loved it. For whatever reason, we used to call the toast strips "soldiers" - brings back memories!

    hahaha yea!! used ta pretend i was godzilla chewing of their heads ahahha. anyone else try to samurai the egg? like try and cut off the top in one super quick cut?
