Holiday Drinks Everyone Will Enjoy

The holiday party season is about to head into full swing which means it is time to perfect your hosting skills. If you have friends over during the holidays you shouldn’t fret about what drinks to serve. These seven easy holiday drinks can be served at any party and we are sure your guests will love them!

Martini

If it is good enough for 007 then it is good enough for your party! Choose from your favorite tipple of gin or vodka and remember that it is shaken, not stirred.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp dry vermouth
  • 2 shots of gin or vodka
  • Olive or lemon to garnish

Method

Step 1: Stir the vodka or gin and the vermouth in a little ice in a glass or cocktail shaker.

Step 2: Strain into a chilled glass and add your garnish of choice.

Gin and Tonic

Gins sales have soared in the past few years, with hundreds of craft gins now on the market. Whether you enjoy a classic dry London gin, or you want to sample the latest flavors, you cannot beat a good old G&T.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of gin
  • Good quality tonic
  • Garnish

Method

Step 1: Pour gin over a glass filled with ice.

Step 2: Add the desired amount of tonic and garnish with citrus fruits, blackberries, watermelon, or juniper berries.

Manhattan

If you’re looking to add a touch of class to your party, a Manhattan has style written all over it. It’s not a drink for the faint of heart!

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of whiskey
  • 1 shot of sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes of bitters
  • Garnish

Method

Step 1: Fill a glass with ice and add the whiskey, bitters, and vermouth, then stir.

Step 2: Strain over a cocktail glass and garnish with a cherry.

Old Fashioned

This traditional whiskey drink is having somewhat of a resurgence, so you can show-off your hipster knowledge with this twist on a classic.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of bourbon
  • 1 dash of bitters
  • 1 dash of simple syrup or 1 cube of sugar
  • Orange peel

Method

Step 1: Place the syrup/sugar in a glass and add a dash of bitters, then muddle it until it’s dissolved.

Step 2: Fill the glass with ice and pour over your whiskey of choice.

Step 3: Garnish with a slice of orange peel or a cherry.

Whiskey Sour

You can’t go wrong with a classic cocktail. It’s a great choice for those who love a traditional whiskey, or anyone who is in the mood for a little twist.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of bourbon
  • 1 shot of lemon juice
  • A large dash of simple syrup
  • 1 dash of bitters
  • 1 egg white

Method

Step 1: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake for 10 seconds.

Step 2: Add ice to the mix and shake for a further 10 seconds.

Step 3: Strain the mix over a new glass filled with ice.

Cosmopolitan

If you have always wanted to be a member of the Sex in the City gang you can channel your inner Carrie with the most suave cocktail in town.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of vodka
  • 1 shot of Triple Sec
  • Large squeeze of lime juice
  • Cranberry juice

Method

Step 1: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all the ingredients.

Step 2: Shake until cold, then pour into a martini glass.

Step 3: Garnish with lime.

Mojito

Make this classic cocktail party favorite to add a little zing to the atmosphere. Be prepared to dance after this one as the Cuban vibes take over.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of white rum
  • 1 tsp of granulated sugar
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • A few sprigs of mint
  • A dash of club soda

Method

Step 1: Muddle the mint leaves, sugar, and lime juice in a small cup or cocktail shaker, and pour into a glass along with a few large blocks of ice.

Step 2: Pour over the rum and the desired amount of club soda, and finish with a sprig of mint.

If you like your mojito extra sweet you can add more sugar, or you can adjust the other ingredients to suit your taste. It would be boring if we were all the same, right?
